The 9th Annual EOR Carbon Management Workshop – Houston, Texas
Workshop opens Mon, Dec 5th with a pre-workshop event at 8:00 am directed by the UK, Canadian, and Norwegian Consulate’s Office in Houston and an event on "Monitoring, Reporting and Verification and CO2 EOR" cohosted by the Tx Carbon Capture & Storage Assoc and Univ of Tx Bureau of Economic Geology. Both concurrent Mon AM session are Open Public Meetings and held at the Marriott Conference Center (MCC) in the Galleria Area of Houston.
The 9th Annual EOR Carbon Management Workshop opens at 12:00 noon at the Marriott Hotel (MCC) in the Houston Galleria Area with an opening keynote by the Honorable Myra Crownover of Tx House District 64
Technical Session I on Monday Dec 6, 2008 from 1:00 pm to 5:00 pm (at the MCC)
Evening Reception at the MCC from 5:30 pm to 7:30 pm hosted by Denbury Resources and Siemens
Technical Session II on Tuesday Dec 7th from 8:00 to 12:00 (at the MCC) with a morning keynote by John R Duda, Director of the Strategic Center for Natural Gas & Oil, NETL/DOE and a Luncheon Keynote Talk by Robert Cornelius, Sr. V.P of CO2 Operations, Denbury Resources.

Flights to/from Midland from Dallas, El Paso, Albuquerque and Phoenix are also available. The Applied Petroleum Technology Academy (APTA), a private sector (non-government) non-profit 501c(3) corporation, is designed to provide practical, specialized training in the management of mature oil and gas producing fields as well as transfer technology to and for the oil and gas industry. The primary intent of this organization is:
- Develop specific technology training topics and modules of applied oil and gas technology in the Permian Basin including the newest innovations. Only innovations that are actually in use will be included; new unproven methods will be avoided.
- Transfer the topic and module technology to the oil and gas industry both nationally and internationally, through a series of summary presentations, workshops, seminars, or in-depth schools.
